I have been traveling to the beautiful beaches of the Outer Banks since 2000. We’ve always loved the beach and growing up we would go to Wildwood, NJ and eventually changed to Ocean City, MD. Summer beach vacations were the best, tons of family time, usually mini-golf, games and rides, and spending a lot of time enjoying the sand and waves! As we got older and as Ocean City got more crowded we wanted somewhere else to enjoy the sun and surf. We first stayed in Kill Devil Hills and Kitty Hawk areas and loved it, the beaches were less crowded and there weren’t any large hotels. Eventually my aunt and uncle started staying in Corolla and we moved north to stay with them. The only downside to OBX is the drive, we’ve gotten better about timing our trips to avoid the bulk of traffic but it is still a hike!
